About The Artist

I've been passionate about photography since the early age of 13 when my mother handed me down my first SLR camera , the classic Canon AE-1.  I took quickly to the vast world of photos and soon had my own darkroom where I would roll, process and print my own black and white film. I have created a life where my camera has remained a core source of inspiration.

Photography has changed a great deal from when I first began but my love  for it has never waned .  One of the initial things that drew me to the art form was the countless paths that you could take  whether shooting stills and capturing  action sports , portraiture, landscapes  and lifestyle  and then the ability to expand into the whole of dimension of moving pictures within the word of cinematography.

I am intrigued by all of them and my horizons continue to broaden to this day into new and exciting fields, just as the technology of the field unveils new and exciting tools and methods of capturing the word around us.

My principal focus has been documenting the personalities and natural beauty and power that exist within the board-sports culture and the awe inspiring power of the ocean and the mountains worldwide.  I remain fascinated with the constantly changing power of light and raw natural energy and strive to capture what we do as humans to interact with those forces. Surfing and Snowboarding offer incredible opportunities for that to say the least.

Working in those industries has been a gateway for me to expand into the world of portraiture and film work and I have worked with some incredible brands and production companies along my path.

I currently reside in Port Angeles , Washington with my wife and 2 daughters and  in 2015 I  expanded my field of interests into opening my own restaurant. The Strait Slice Pizza Company is my award winning pizza restaurant where i get to practice one of my other passions, making hand tossed NY style pizza.  Since our opening we have grown to be a colorful and integral part of our local community  and the restaurant gives me a chance to showcase some of my photo work on the walls while also hosting other artists and their work.  It is a labor of love born out of a love for the art of the slice.

I am incredibly grateful for the life I have lived. I have amazing friends and family and have been on incredible adventures, both high and low. I believe that I am living the human experience to the fullest, embracing love, joy, hurt, and pain - all of which make us human at the core. I think it is important to experience the full range of emotions in life while we are living it. So, for better or worse, I try to enjoy this beautiful experience as much as I can.
